Mythoclast “Ashenborne” (Independent)

The first thing that came to my mind when looking at the cover was Dark Souls videogame saga, but it is not a Play Station publication, so whatever mental image I had at that moment was banished immediately. Coming back to these Californinan guys’ production, I was greatly surprised from the very first riff of the opener Lost Izalith, finding myself headbanging with this Melodic Death Metal band. There are many moments that remind me of bands such as At the Gates and Entombed AD. This sound keeps going along Ashenborne, leaving no spaces for getting bored, and even, there is no part that makes you feel you have monotony in front of you. Give it a chance and I bet you will really want more from this band.
